Christie Smith

The first few times you see Christie Smith at Lawhorn & Associates, you may get confused. One day she's upstairs, another day she's downstairs. On Monday she's doing bookkeeping with our Bookkeeping Essentials division, on Thursday she's handling admin tasks at the front of the office. And this brings us to that type of person that always makes a business run more smoothly: the surrogate. Wait, that might not be the best word, given the photo. Um, how about "Stand-In"? That just sounds like we're waiting for the real actress to get here, so that won't work. "Temp"? No, that implies a temporary position. "Substitute"? Sounds like an incompetent school teacher. A "pinch hitter"? Today is not a good day for synonyms.

Listen, Christie does a lot, okay. All the words above are somehow less than, and she's not. "Scape goat" might be better for the horrible stuff she goes through. "Fall-guy", no matter what the season. Even better: SACRIFICIAL LAMB. That's it!

Christie is the quiet type (which totally goes with the sacrificial lamb thing, by the way), so don't be surprised if you exchange two or less words with her. But rest assured, she's working away on all the tedious, annoying work you don't want to think about, and she's doing it cheerfully.

Christie adores her two children, Raven and Gabriel. She can't wait to get home to snuggle up with her cuddly dog, Jade. She kind of likes Brock, her husband, sometimes too. She enjoys eating out, shopping, spending time with her mom...Just scratch the last sentence and insert "typical woman." But when she craves real excitement, it's Jerry Springer time. She tried to get on the show once, but she was too normal.
