COVID-19 Updates to Business

Lawhorn CPA Group’s top priority is the safety and well-being of our clients and team professionals.

With the new “safer at home” order in effect, please know that our business is considered essential, and we will remain open and working. However after careful review of information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other state and federal organizations on the COVID-19 pandemic, we have determined it may be necessary for our offices to close periodically or operate with limited staff to protect the health of clients and employees.

Safety & Well-being of Clients & Staff

Fortunately, we have always embraced technology and “the Cloud” making it easier for us to support remote working capabilities while continuing to communicate with and successfully serve clients virtually. Here are a few ways we can socially distance, while also ensuring your tax information is secured and received by our team:

• Upload your supporting documents with your web organizer or through the ClientFlow link of your portal.
• Marion Clients can upload to the Sharefile portal. Please contact Marion office for the link.
• Send your documents via mail to our office.
• Fax your documents to us. Contact information below.
• Electronic signature document options are available allowing you to sign and send back to us securely.
• Tax returns can be delivered digitally or by mail.

If it is necessary for you to drop off or pick up your information in office, please call first to ensure our office will be open at the time you are intending to stop by.

Changes in Tax Filing Deadlines with Penalty & Interest Relief

The April 15^th tax deadline has been extended to July 15^th. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without any interest or penalties. Please know, our team will still work diligently to complete your return in a timely manner. We will be reaching out to you asking for any information we may need to complete your return.

Additional Assistance Available to Our Clients

These are trying times, and the uncertainty surrounding us all has already caused a shift in our normal, everyday lives. Here are a few things we would like to provide to lend as much help as we can:

• Assistance with Small Business Administration (SBA) or other financing to weather the storm.
• Expediting tax return processing for those clients who are expecting a refund to help with their cash flow.
• Decreasing your monthly accounting engagement fee through conversion to the Quick Fee platform which will allow you to spread your remaining payment over 12 months at only 7% interest.

New Legislation Promises Hope & Relief

In the early hours of this morning, lawmakers and the Trump administration reached a deal on a nearly $2 trillion stimulus package. The full details have yet to be released, but once the information is available, we will be back in touch to let you know what help we can provide to get the assistance you need.
