Eileen is a Florida native who spent time in Georgia and South California before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. She and her husband have a combined eight children and nine grandchildren as well as four dogs. Eileen is an artist, ballet dancer, and enjoys kayaking and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains in her free time. She has a BS in Psychology with minors in Human Services and Sociology from Troy State University and an MS in Social Science with concentrations in Economics, History, and Geography from Cal State. However, she has spent most of her adult life working in the accounting world.
Eileen is a Virtual Financial Officer. Her job is to make her clients’ back of house run smoothly. She helps businesses get back on track, improve BOH operations, navigate the complexities of running a business, and so much more. This involves implementing and educating clients on systems and processes that will make their lives easier and their business run better.
Her love of spreadsheets, math, deadlines, and helping people is what led her down this career path. In her 1.5 years at Lawhorn, one of the things she has appreciated the most is working with a great team. She believes that the opportunity to discuss challenges and questions with her peers and CPAs makes a big difference.
The most exciting part of Eileen’s career has been working with Augusta Training Shop, a non-profit organization that employs adults with various disabilities to create handmade works of art that can be purchased through their online shop. Working with ATS has been a highlight for Eileen because of the amazing work they do and the massive growth they’ve experienced. ATS was featured on World News Tonight’s “Made in America” shortly before Eileen started at Lawhorn. Following the feature, their monthly sales skyrocketed, and while it was crazy and difficult at times, Eileen feels blessed to have been part of their journey and to be able to support such a great organization.
